Seiko Prospex LX SNR029 ReviewThe models from the Prospex LX line are made of titanium, which makes this Seiko watch very comfortable on the wrist due to the lightness. The SNR029 features a large sports case with 44.8 mm size and it is 14.7 mm thick. In addition to being lightweight, it is a robust and sturdy watch.The Prospex LX SNR029 shares many similarities with Grand Seiko including the movement and finishing. They also share the same applied technique of polishing using Zaratsu which contributes to the fine finish of the watch design. The design of the case was created by the well-known Porsche designer Ken Okuyama who made an excellent job in making this large case wearable while keeping the good looks. Seiko Prospex LX SNR029 VisibilityThis model SNR029 is water-resistant up to 300 meters and is used as a diver’s watch. In this context what we can expect from this watch is unidirectional titanium bezel. The bezel has a high gloss finish and a diving scale. The markers that are used to label the 60 minutes are with a luminous dot that provides great visibility in environments where there is no sufficient light. Seiko uses LumiBrite material for this and many of the satisfied customers confirm that compared to the watches with Super-LumiNova, this luminous material shows much better results when it comes to visibility and readability. As the Prospex SNR029 is a dive watch this is extremely important and one of the best selling points of this watch is the dial. The owners of the watch are at ease with reading the minute hand. The hands for the minutes and the large hand for the hours are filled also with LumiBrite while the hand for the seconds features a dot which is luminous. As this is an advanced movement it also adds to the value of the watch, making it high-end. The caliber that is integrated here in the SNR029 is 5R65. As mentioned the movement is featured on the indicator for the power reserve positioned on the dial which actually is very similar if not the same as the other models from the line of Prospex LX collection. The power reserve of the watch is 72 hours which is again just enough if you want to take a rest of this watch, maybe wear another and then put it back again without worrying that you will have to set up the date or the time. Seiko Prospex LX SNR029 CasebackWe have discussed the movement of Spring Drive and what it means for the Prospex LX SNR collection, so we are not going to go into details just briefly repeat that for the owners it means quartz precision i.e. deviation of one second a day per average. Unfortunately, the back case is not transparent and the movement cannot be observed. The case back has engraved a logo together with some additional information. The same as the other models from the collection the case back is not monobloc but screw-down. Seiko Prospex LX SNR029 BraceletThe Prospex LX case is in great combination with the bracelet’s design. The bracelet strap is also made of titanium. You can release the clasp that features 2 pushers and in case you want to extend the strap if you want to wear it over the clothes you can easily do this by the extension system, which is convenient for use. By sliding the clasp you can make the strap shorter or longer. The quality of the finish is impeccable and can also be observed on the polished links.
