Hey moms! If you’ve been following our blog recently, you’ve heard about the Bugaboo Butterfly, the latest stroller in Bugaboo’s luxury stroller lineup! We’ve been getting some questions about how this stroller compares to some of our other popular travel strollers, like the Joolz Aer+, the Babyzen, and even Minu. Now you can find out how the Bugaboo Butterfly matches up to the Aer+, and what advantages there are to each! Design The Butterfly is a classy and posh compact stroller, while the Joolz Aer+ has a more chilled, casual look we love, with a brown leather handlebar on all color choices except the black for that modern touch, and a less curved, more straight handlebar than the Bugaboo Butterfly. The Butterfly can be used with a car seat, but there's no bassinet that goes with the Butterfly. The Joolz Aer+ does have this bassinet option. We love the color choices for the Butterfly! There's Midnight Black, Stormy Blue, Forest Green, & Desert Taupe. The Aer+ does have more color options than the Butterfly - with the Butterfly you get 4 color choices, and with the Aer+ you get 6. Legrest One of the greatest benefits of the Butterfly is that it has an adjustable 5-position hide-away legrest, to keep your little one really comfortable all ride long. When you're not using it, you can adjust the legrest so that it's under the seat so that you don't really see it. Recline The Joolz Aer+ has a slightly deeper recline than the Butterfly. However because the Joolz has a zippered recline, its more difficult to recline the seat while the child is in it, unless your child leans forward. The Butterfly is super simple to recline even when you've already began your walk! The Joolz is lighter than the Butterfly, but the Butterfly has a sturdier feel. Fold The Butterfly folds up in a second with a cool collapsible fold. Unlike the Aer, you can even fold it with the bumper bar! However the Butterfly doesn't fold up well if the footmuff is in the stroller. The Aer+ can, though. The Aer also folds up pretty fast, and like the Butterfly, it can be folded up with just one hand! The Joolz Aer folds up a tiny bit smaller than the Bugaboo Butterfly. Storage Space The Bugaboo Butterfly is slightly more practical, with a wider and much more spacious underseat basket (it can hold about 17 pounds vs 11 pounds for the Joolz Aer), and it has more room for your bags after you’ve spent the day shopping around town! However the Joolz Aer+ has a little pocket in back of the seat, something which the Butterfly doesn't offer. The pocket doesn't have space for much, but it can be convenient. Footbrake The Bugaboo Butterfly does not have a flip-flop friendly brake, so if you'll be using the stroller with sandals, that might not be too much fun. The Joolz Aer+ does have a flip-flop friendly brake, so if that's important to you, we'd recommend the Aer+.
